In an era of overlapping crises, global economic interdependencies are increasingly becoming a source of vulnerability and an arena of strategic intervention. The MPIfG Symposium considers how geoeconomic tensions are reshaping societies and how different actors respond as globalization becomes more contested and fragmented.
The keynote on geoeconomics and tech rivalry will be delivered by Naná de Graaff from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Leading scholars will share their latest research on crucial geoeconomic issues in two thematic sessions. A roundtable discussion brings together experts from Siemens, the Federation of German Industries, and the European Trade Union Confederation to examine how companies are navigating geopolitical and geoeconomic disruptions.
With this year’s newly launched MPIfG Symposium, the Institute and its Society of Friends and Former Associates will bring leading scholars and experts to Cologne, inviting alumni and partners to join the conversation, engage with ongoing research at the MPIfG, and reconnect with its academic community.
By invitation only.
