Lisa Kastner receives Otto Hahn Medal

The Max Planck Society (MPG) has awarded Lisa Kastner with the Otto Hahn Medal this year. In her dissertation, entitled "Restraining Regulatory Capture: An Empirical Examination of the Power of Weak Interests in Financial Reforms," Kastner examined the role of civil society in the regulation of the money economy after the 2008 crisis. The Otto Hahn Medal is awarded every year to a small number of young researchers at the MPG for excellent academic achievements. The Medal comes with a prize of 7,500 euros and is intended to motivate especially talented young researchers to pursue a career in academia or research. The Medal was awarded during the MPG’s annual meeting in June 2017 in Weimar. Lisa Kastner was a doctoral researcher in the joint cotutelle program of Sciences Po in Paris and the International Max Planck Research School on the Social and Political Constitution of the Economy (IMPRS-SPCE) in Cologne from 2012 to 2015. Since 2016, she has been a political advisor for the Foundation for European Progressive Studies (FEPS) in Brussels.
