Sarah Berens is Assistant Professor at the University of Innsbruck

Since May 2020, Sarah Berens, who was a doctoral student at the IMPRS-SPCE from 2010 to 2013, has been Assistant Professor (tenure track) for Political Economy at the University of Innsbruck. Previously she was a postdoctoral researcher at the Cologne Center for Comparative Politics at the University of Cologne. During her time at the MPIfG, Berens investigated what influence structural uncertainty, dysfunctional systems of law and government finance, inequality, and mass employment within the informal economy have on social policy preferences.
