IMPRS-SPCE Summer Conference at Northwestern University
The 18th Summer Conference on Economy and Society of the International Max Planck Research School on the Social and Political Constitution of the Economy (IMPRS-SPCE) took place in Evanston, Illinois, in July this year. Fifteen junior researchers from the MPIfG and its partner institutions, Sciences Po, Paris, Northwestern University, Brown University, and University of California, Berkeley, met to report on their current research. The presentations and discussions reflected the broad spectrum of research interests, including fiscal policy, abortion access and policies at European level, and the influence of US and Chinese multinationals on the social and economic development of Latin America. The Summer Conference on Economy and Society is an integral part of the IMPRS-SPCE curriculum, offering doctoral researchers an opportunity to present their work to leading scholars in their field and discuss their findings.
