Hannah Pool Receives Dietrich-Thränhardt Dissertation Prize of the DVPW
Back in August of this year, the German Political Science Association’s (DVPW) research section on migration politics awarded its Dietrich-Thränhardt Dissertation Prize to Hannah Pool for "'Doing the Game‘: The Moral Economy of Coming to Europe." The prize is awarded every two years for an outstanding doctoral dissertation in the field of migration and integration policy. In her research, Pool followed the migration trajectories of people fleeing to western Europe from Afghanistan via Iran, Turkey, Greece, and the Balkan Route. The cash prize of 400 euros comes with an opportunity to publish her work in the research section’s “Studien zur Migrations- und Integrationspolitik“ book series with Springer VS Verlag. Hannah Pool has been a senior researcher at the MPIfG since October 2022.
