Elifcan Çelebi awarded doctorate
In January 2022, Elifcan Çelebi was awarded her doctorate by the University of Cologne. In her dissertation “Gendered Influences on Labor Policies in Turkey,” the major question she seeks to answer is why and how labor policies targeting women both in paid labor as well as in unpaid care work have changed during the 2000s in Turkey. Çelebi was a doctoral student at the International Max Planck Research School on the Social and Political Constitution of the Economy (IMPRS-SPCE) from 2017 onwards. Starting from February 2022, she will be a postdoctoral researcher at the Cologne Center for Comparative Politics (CCCP) at the University of Cologne.
