Curriculum
The curriculum of the first year is devoted to enhancing students' theoretical and methodological knowledge. Course work consists of three core courses, two elective courses and two seminars in research methods that lay the foundation for developing their research projects. In addition, all doctoral students participate in a biweekly doctoral colloquium. During the second and third year they will conduct their research and write their dissertation.
Spending a semester (four months) at a partner university and presenting their work at a summer conference gives students opportunities to discuss their research with peers and leading scholars in their field.
